Sensing technology - Temperature, humidity, light, motion.
Advanced, swappable battery pack.
Configurable mounting options
Design Statement
Design an interactive, “smart”, battery operated portable fan. Device to be controlled locally and from mobile devices, web browsers and common smart home hubs. Use micro-controller with built in BT, WiFi and maybe ZIgbee or Zwave. Enclosure and battery sealed to IP67 standards. Integrate sensor components to trigger device on/off, speed and telemetry data for downstream sources. Multiple mounting solutions will allow product to be placed virtually anywhere.
Proof of concept
A magnetic linkage between the sealed, mechanical “pod” and the blade assembly was successfully tested. One unexpected outcome was the ability of the “pod” to attach itself magnetically to the blade assembly.
Prototype refinement
The battery and electronics were integrated into a design for a working prototype.
