The Aerolert system leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning to continuously analyze and respond to changing environmental conditions. Aerolert is designed to provide real-time, actionable information for occupants and mechanical infrastructure to maximize safety and comfort.

Aerolert Ecosystem Map

Aerolert is a cloud-connected air quality monitoring system designed to safeguard any indoor environment from airborne threats. Leveraging IoT sensors AND architectural 2D/3D data (BIM) data, Aerolert continuously monitors the air quality, detecting airborne elements that can compromise respiratory health and personal safety.

Aerolert and BIM

Add Aerolert’s virtual hardware “instances” (with unique hardware IDs) to a BIM model. Import the digital twin into Aerolert, forming the foundation for analytics.

Aerolert Notifications

When an event is detected, the Aerolert system’s first course of action is to send a notification to effected occupants.  Occupants can choose to install an app on their mobile device and IT administrators can utilize the Aerolert app on PCs.

Aeorolert - Evacuation Scenario and mitigation potential

HVAC - Shut down air circulation, Moderate Temperature/Humidity, Activate air purification systems, Moderate HVAC based on occupancy.

Mechanical - Shut down water supply if leak detected, Detect warning lights on “unconnected” systems, Detect “leaks” in building insulation (open doors and windows).

Safety - Call first responders, Inform maintenance technicians of potential problems, Inform occupants of current air quality conditions, Manage occupancy and mass exit strategies.

Aerolert Dashboard

The Aerolert dashboard displays the status of the sensor array and individual sensor outputs.  It can also be used to adjust telemetry interval and update system software remotely.  Can also be integrated into a kiosk in a central or administrative location.

Aerolert SensorHub

Preliminary Industrial Design

Preliminary ID of the sensor was focused on five major considerations.

  1. How is the device to be mounted ?

  2. How is the device to be powered?

  3. How can the device be produced with the least cost?

  4. What are the internal size constraints?

  5. Does the device have a relevant and appealing form-factor?

Form-factors explored in 2D

Aeorolert Hardware Ecosystem

Customers can choose from variety of sensor configurations depending on their specific needs.  SensorHub acts as a 900mHz relay for the low-power/frequency remote sensors.

EdgeSense is a low-power, single-source 900mhz sensor suite designed to be placed in remote locations.  EdgeSense has a battery life of up to two years. Potential sensors include:

Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, VOC, Lux, Sound, Vibration, Motion, Leak, Indicator Detection

React signage guides occupants away from negative environmental conditions. The information displayed can be animated to emphasize directional movement. The React hardware is extremely bright, inexpensive and extendable in width.

Portal-Link is a low-power, window/door sensor.  Reports open/close and tamper status in real time to SensorHub and Aerolert system.

Motion-Link is a low-power, millimeter wave motion sensor.  With tunable sensitivity, it will report even the slightest change in motion.  It uses a standard outlet for power and does not require a battery.  Acts as a repeater for other sensors.

Charge 4, 4 position battery charger. Individual voltage meters provide charge status of batteries.

Packaging. Dimensional parameters and cost for shopping 8 sensor hubs in a single package.
