XCT-V
Conceptual Exploration
What if… an entire vehicle could be imaged using x-ray computed tomography? The XCT data Combined with an AI trained AI model, would allow easily diagnoses of mechanical and wear-relate issues. Customers would not have to rely on intrusive methods and expensive personnel.
The Concept…
Basically, you need an x-ray source, a collector and and a means to gather images from that collector. The x-ray images are gathered as the collection system moves in a 360-degree arc around the subject. The resolution of the resulting 3D data is directly proportional to the resolution of the x-ray images.
Concepts:
A stationary source and collector, vehicle on a turntable.
Source and collector rotate in the z axis around the vehicle.
Source and collector rotate in the y axis around the vehicle. Source and collector travel in a step-wise fashion down the length of the vehicle.

Concept 3 - Refinements
The mechanical elements of the system are contained below the floor. The scanner is housed in a specialized facility to contain x-ray radiation.
The vehicle is moved, via conveyor belt, through a radiation containment structure. The collector rotates but does not need to move longitudinally.
